SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 8, 2023) – Fidel Gallardo, 63, of Lemon Grove, died Sunday following a car accident on Market Street in the Chollas View area of San Diego.
The two-vehicle crash occurred about 1 p.m. on March 5th, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The Lemon Grove man was traveling westbound in a 1993 Nissan Maxima when for unknown reasons he allegedly veered into opposing traffic. The vehicle crashed into an eastbound 2018 Lexus RX 350 SUV and left three people with injuries trapped in the two vehicles.
The crash resulted in major injuries to Fidel Gallardo. Paramedics responded and rushed him by ambulance to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. He died at the hospital at 1:45 p.m. the same day, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
There are no further details about the 61-year-old driver of the Lexus or the passenger in that vehicle.
Investigators with the San Diego Police Department are working on the case to determine fault for the San Diego car accident on Market Street in Chollas View.

Among these crashes 530 involved speed and 631 involved alcohol, the report said.
