Two-Vehicle Crash Causes Fire on SR-91 in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 27, 2025) — A fiery crash involving two vehicles happened Thursday on the eastbound Riverside 91 Freeway, just east of Tustin Avenue in the Anaheim area of Orange County.
The collision occurred at approximately 3:07 PM on March 27th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a gold Nissan Sentra and a gray Jeep Wrangler collided and they were blocking the slow lanes, the report said.
The impact of the crash caused the Nissan to catch fire and eventually became fully engulfed by flames. All occupants of the vehicles managed to escape before the fire spread, and fortunately, there were no reports of serious injuries.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded promptly to the scene, and firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
The crash led to significant traffic congestion as lanes were initially blocked for cleanup and investigation.
A SigAlert was issued, and authorities estimated the closure would last for 30 minutes.
CHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and determine liability.
