Fatal Collision on Monterey Road in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2024) — A fiery, head-on crash involving several vehicles happened in San Jose on Thursday afternoon at Monterey Road and Live Oak Avenue.

The fatal multi-vehicle crash happened around 2 p.m. on Nov. 14th, according to the California Highway Patrol report.

The San Jose police and fire departments sent crews to the crash scene where they located a semi-truck, a Jeep, and a Honda Accord. The Jeep reportedly overturned on its side with major front-end damage. One of the vehicles caught on fire with its occupants still inside, the report said. Also, the Honda had its front-end torn off and was missing two front tires.

Paramedics responded and confirmed at least one person deceased following the crash.

Tow trucks removed both of the vehicles from the crash scene. Meanwhile, the San Jose Police Department closed down Monterey Road at Tilton and Palm Avenues.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the San Jose crash on Monterey Road.
