Fiery Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-10 Freeway East in Ontario
One Vehicle Catches Fire in Crash on Interstate 10
ONTARIO, CA (Feb. 28, 2025) — A multi-vehicle collision happened Friday afternoon on the eastbound Interstate 10 Freeway near Euclid Avenue in Ontario.
The collision, reported at 12:11 p.m. on Feb. 28th, disrupted traffic and prompted a SigAlert shortly after, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident involved a white Chevrolet Silverado, a black Hyundai, and a silver Toyota Camry, according to the CHP.
It happened in the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the freeway and the debris and vehicles created immediate hazards for motorists.
Shortly after the collision, the Toyota Camry became fully engulfed in flames, with fire crews quickly responding to contain the blaze.
The vehicles involved in the collision were reported to be obstructing both the eastbound lanes and the on-ramp, adding to the already congested traffic. The fire, which began in the Camry, was reportedly under control by 12:29 PM.
It’s unknown if there were any injuries, but paramedics were on the scene. Meanwhile, tow services removed the damaged vehicles and wreckage from the highway.
The CHP will investigate the cause of the crash and liability. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes to reduce congestion.
While the immediate danger has been addressed, this collision serves as a reminder of the unpredictable risks on busy highways. Drivers are urged to exercise caution, especially in high-traffic areas, and remain aware of their surroundings to prevent similar accidents from occurring in the future.
