FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (March 18, 2025) — A dramatic crash occurred Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of West Manning Avenue and South Ohio Avenue in Fresno County involving a semi-truck and a Honda Civic.
The collision, reported at 12:40 PM on March 18th, in the Levis area just north of Cantua Creek.
The car reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the truck driver.
The empty cattle hauler truck and car caught fire, becoming fully engulfed in flames, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The fire was significant and spread to nearby grass. Cal Fire was immediately dispatched, and crews are working to contain the fire. At least one of the big rig’s trailers was empty, but the other is unknown.
As a result of the crash and ongoing fire, CHP deputies asked Caltrans to close down parts of nearby State Route 33. It is estimated that road closures may last up to an hour, with recovery and fire suppression efforts underway.

A tow truck has been requested with an estimated arrival time of 25-30 minutes. The crash site remains active, with emergency teams continuing their response.
The truck accident on Manning Avenue remains under investigation and drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
