
FILLMORE, Calif. (Feb. 27, 2023) — A fatal Fillmore head-on crash happened Monday morning on Highway 126 near Cain Road.
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 10:17 a.m. on Feb. 27th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported one of the two vehicles caught on fire after the incident.
The drivers involved were in a white BMW and a Mercedes Benz, police said. Both were blocking traffic lanes with occupants still inside when the Ventura County Fire Department responded.
Police closed down both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 126 due to the crash.
At least one person died in the collision and the coroner was on route to the scene.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Fillmore crash on Highway 126.
