At Least 1 Killed in Head-On Collision on Highway 33
Firebaugh, CA (August 3, 2022) – One person died following a traffic crash that occurred in the area of Highway 33 and Shaw Avenue, according to Your Central Valley.
The article published online mentioned two vehicles collided at the crossing in Firebaugh Wednesday evening. Preliminary investigation revealed a Hyundai was heading south on SR-33; while on the opposite direction was a Freightliner hauling tomatoes.
For reasons still unclear, the Hyundai swerved into the path of the Freightliner. The car and the truck crashed head-on into each other Due to the force from the impact, the driver of the Hyundai was ejected.
Deadly Car Crash in Firebaugh
Emergency crews arrived at the location shortly after 9:50 p.m. and found the victim lying on the ground. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the woman but she sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the scene. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Freightliner appeared unharmed after the incident.
Detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the fatal crash that happened at Highway 33 and Shaw Avenue.
