Major Injury Car Accident on State Route 33
FIREBAUGH, Calif. (July 31, 2023) — A head-on crash in Firebaugh happened Monday on Highway 33 at North Douglas Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol reported the major injury collision around 5:06 a.m. on July 31st. There was also a second separate collision involving a hit-and-run driver, but there were no injuries in that incident.
The initial crash involved three vehicles including a semi-truck, a black sedan and a third vehicle, the report said. One of the cars wound up in a ditch after the crash. The vehicles sustained major front-end damage and required tow trucks.
Paramedics responded to help at least one person with major injuries.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the collision.
Meanwhile, authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and liability.
