Pedestrian Injured in Florin Hit-and-Run on Gerber Road Near Power Inn
FLORIN, CA (August 18, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Gerber Road in Florin.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place early Wednesday. Officers reported the incident at about 12:09 a.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Florin. The driver hit the person at 8297 Gerber Road near Power Inn Road.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Elk Grove Adult and Community Education. They found the victim who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then treated the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained following the accident. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the pedestrian and fled westbound on Gerber Road towards Power Inn.
Officers forced a stretch of the roadway to shut down for a time following the collision. The cause of the Florin hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
