The fatal crash took place about 2:30 a.m. this morning at the intersection. The suspect who struck the victim fled the scene of the crash, but his vehicle was later traced the evidence left behind at the scene to a residence in Folsom. Police arrested the suspect and they suspect alcohol was a factor in the hit-and-run crash.
The rider died of their injuries at the scene of the crash.
Those of us at Johnson Attorneys Group offer our condolences to the family of the person who died.
Drivers who flee the scene of a collision are not only criminals under California law, but they are cowards. In this case, the driver may have also been intoxicated. Fortunately, the suspect has been arrested and will face charges.
