Pedestrian Killed in Folsom Park DUI Crash Near Oak Avenue and Willow Creek
FOLSOM, CA (September 4, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a DUI crash in a Folsom park near Willow Creek Drive and Oak Avenue Parkway.
According to an article published by the Golden Country Media, the tragic accident occurred last month on August 18. Officers reported the collision at about 8:22 p.m.
The incident happened when a male pedestrian was walking with his dog in the disc golf area of BT Collins Park in Folsom.
At the same time, a vehicle ran a stop sign at the intersection of Oak Avenue Parkway and Willow Creek Drive. The driver continued forward, entered the park and struck the 65-year-old Folsom man.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the victim lying unresponsive on the ground. He sustained obvious signs of trauma as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to a local area hospital, where he died. His name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
The dog sustained injuries following the incident. Meanwhile, officers added that the vehicle slammed into a pole nearby before coming to a stop.
Folsom police determined that the man driving the car was under the influence of alcohol when he hit the pedestrian. They soon arrested and took him into custody on suspicion of DUI.
Authorities forced the area of BT Collins Park to close after the pedestrian accident. The fatal Folsom DUI crash is still under investigation.
