FONTANA, California (October 30, 2015) — At least one person was injured when the drivers of a black Saturn sedan and a big rig truck collided Friday morning in a hit-and-run crash on the southbound Interstate 15 Freeway, just north of Sierra Avenue, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 7:20 a.m. in the No. 3 lane. The Saturn suffered a broken windshield and the driver managed to get out of the car and over to the right shoulder of the freeway. The truck driver continued driving without stopping. A truck with a yellow cab was pulled over with its hazard lights on just ahead of the crash, but it was unknown if it was the suspect driver.
Paramedics responded and transported one person to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
A full investigation into the cause of the crash is underway by police.
