3 Injured in Fontana Crash at Sierra and Baseline Avenues
FONTANA, CA (May 24, 2022) – Several were hospitalized after a DUI crash at Sierra and Baseline Avenues in Fontana.
According to an article published by the Fontana Herald News, the accident took place on Sunday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 9:35 p.m.
The incident happened on May 22 when a vehicle ran a red light in the city of Fontana. Police said the car then slammed into another vehicle at the intersection of Sierra and Baseline avenues.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found a family of three riding the victim car. The family members sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Drunk Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Victims
Medical personnel then took all three patients to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, the driver who ran the red light fled northbound after hitting the victims. Police located him and determined that he was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck occurred.
They soon arrested him for DUI. Officers forced the area of Sierra and Baseline avenues to shut down following the incident.
The Fontana crash is still under investigation.
