Officer Hospitalized After Collision at Sierra Avenue and Sierra Lakes Parkway Monday
Fontana, CA (October 19, 2021) – A Fontana Police Department officer suffered injuries following a DUI car crash that occurred in the area of Sierra Avenue and Sierra Lakes Parkway.
On October 18, Monday, officers responded to the Fontana intersection for a non-injury DUI collision. The Fontana Herald News reported another vehicle crashed into the back of a marked police car while officers were finishing up their investigation. Per article published online, the marked police car was blocking traffic for the original accident.
Due to the force from the impact, the patrol vehicle spun towards the center median and came to a rest in the opposite traffic lanes. Our sources confirmed one officer suffered leg injury as a result of the wreck.
The incident took place at about 1 a.m.
An ambulance reportedly transported the injured officer to Kaiser Hospital for treatment. The name of the victim and their condition at this time remained undisclosed.

Meanwhile, investigators said the driver of the suspect vehicle showed signs of intoxication. For this reason, police arrested the unidentified male party.
