1 Killed in Collision at Beech and South Highland Avenue
Fontana, CA (June 23, 2022) – At least one person suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred at the intersection of Beech and South Highland Avenue.
According to Fontana Herald News, two vehicles collided at the crossing in northern Fontana on June 22. Earlier reports indicated the violent crash involved a Mini Cooper and a Hyundai Elantra.
The force from the impact caused the Mini Cooper to careen off the roadway. Subsequently, the vehicle slammed against a signal light pole and an electrical box on the northeast corner of the intersection. Shortly after 5:04 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location and found the Mini Copper fully engulfed in flames with the driver still inside.
Deadly Car Accident in Fontana, June 22
Responding firefighters worked extensively to put out the fire. Paramedics attended to the driver of the Mini Copper but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died at the scene. Authorities only identified the deceased as a 34-year-old resident of Hollywood.
Meanwhile, the occupants in the Hyundai appeared unscathed after the collision.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole afternoon. They continue to investigate exactly how and why the fatal crash happened at Beech and South Highland Avenue in Fontana.
