1 Killed in Fontana Crash on Eastbound Interstate 10 Saturday
FONTANA, CA (April 3, 2021) – At least one was killed after a crash along the Interstate 10 Freeway in the city of Fontana.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic wreck occurred late Saturday night. Officers reported the accident at about 11:11 p.m.
A white Ford F-150 pickup truck and a white Scion sedan collided for an unknown reason. The two crashed on the eastbound Interstate 10, just east of Sierra Avenue, in Fontana.
Deadly 2-Car Collision Near Sierra Avenue
CHP said the Scion then apparently plunged down an embankment. The Ford ended up on the right hand shoulder upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene and confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the report log did not mention if any other party sustained injuries in the incident.
Officials forced the eastbound Interstate 10 to briefly close following the crash. The cause of the fatal Fontana collision.
