Passengers Killed in Collision at Citrus and Los Cedros Avenue
Fontana, CA (April 7, 2022) – Two people suffered fatal injuries following a car accident that occurred in the area of Citrus and Los Cedros Avenue.
According to an article published online by the Fontana Herald News, two vehicles collided at the intersection in Fontana early Thursday. Officials described the cars involved in the horrible crash as a Honda and a Chevy truck.
Earlier reports indicated the Honda attempted to make a turn from northbound Citrus onto Los Cedros. In the process, the Honda drove directly into the path of a Chevy truck heading south on Citrus. The force from the impact pushed the Honda against a brick wall on the southwest corner of the intersection.
When emergency crews arrived at the site, they immediately rendered aid to two passengers in the Honda. Our sources confirmed one passenger sadly died at the scene. Meanwhile, a second passenger succumbed to their injuries and passed away at a hospital. The names of the fatal victims remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
DUI Suspect Arrested After Deadly Car Accident in Fontana
Detectives later discovered the driver of the Honda was intoxicated at the time of the collision. Police arrested the suspect and booked them into West Valley Detention Center on vehicular manslaughter charges.
Further investigation is ongoing on the deadly DUI crash at Citrus and Los Cedros Avenue. The Fontana Police Major Accident Investigation Team and the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner’s Office are handling the case.
