Fontana Fatal Motorcycle Crash with Tractor-Trailer Truck on Valley Boulevard

FONTANA, Calif. (August 11, 2026) — A motorcyclist died one week ago after a crash involving a tractor-trailer truck at Valley Boulevard and Elm Avenue in Fontana.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. on August 5th near the Fontana intersection, according to the Fontana Police Department.
Investigators said the motorcyclist was traveling east on Valley Boulevard when he struck an 18-wheeler truck that was backing onto the roadway against a red traffic signal. The force of the collision ejected the rider from the motorcycle.
The motorcycle was then struck by another vehicle that was passing through the area. The second collision sparked a fire that spread to the motorcyclist, according to police.
Officers and San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene. The Fontana Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team took over the investigation.
Valley Boulevard remained closed for several hours as investigators documented and processed the crash scene.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police have not released the motorcyclist’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
