1 Killed, 2 Seriously Injured in Fontana Crash on Westbound 210 Freeway
FONTANA, CA (May 5, 2021) – A Tesla crash killed one person and seriously injured two others on the 210 Freeway in Fontana.
The incident began when for an unknown reason a 2011 Mack commercial vehicle combination overturned. It rolled over on the westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway near Citrus Avenue in Fontana.
A 30-year-old San Bernardino man stopped to help the involved party. The passing motorist stood within the No. 1 lane as he tried to extricate the 50-year-old San Bernardino man operating the truck.

A few moments later, a Tesla approached and hit the Good Samaritan and the Mack. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and soon pronounced the driver of the Tesla dead at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol described him as a 35-year-old Running Springs man. They added that the other two men involved sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed them to local hospitals for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced multiple lanes of the westbound 210 Freeway to shut down for several hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Fontana crash is still under investigation.
