FONTANA, California (February 20, 2015) –– A semi-tractor trailer truck hauling a military helicopter struck the top of a freeway bridge causing the helicopter to fall off and hit several cars on the Interstate 15 Freeway at Duncan Canyon Road, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 6:54 a.m., CHP officers say one vehicle hit the bridge and and the helicopter hit a second vehicle. One report said the helicopter was a movie prop. The cars were described as a white Nissan Versa, a white Ford and a black Honda CRV. Paramedics responded for possible injuries involved in the crash.
Police will head up an investigation into the crash to determine liability.
