1 Injured in Fontana Hit-and-Run Crash on Westbound 10 Freeway Near Cherry

FONTANA, CA (August 17, 2021) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash on the 10 Freeway and Cherry Avenue in Fontana.

The California Highway Patrol received a call about the accident on Tuesday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at around 6:46 p.m.

CHP said at least two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Fontana. They crashed on the westbound 10 Freeway near Cherry Avenue.

2 Cars Collide

The incident log described the cars involved as a black Toyota Matrix and a silver Ford Mustang. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.

Medical personnel found one person who ended up hurt as a result of the collision. They then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the wreck.

Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that one of the drivers involved did not stop to help and fled the area.

Officers forced the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Fontana hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
