Motorcyclist Injured in a Possible Hit-and-run Collision
FONTANA, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2023) — A Fontana motorcycle accident happened Friday morning on the westbound Interstate 10 Freeway, just east of Sierra Avenue.
The collision, possibly involving a hit-and-run driver, occurred at around 6:22 a.m. on Dec. 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials responded to a 911 call reporting a motorcyclist crashed. Also, the motorcycle caught on fire after the bike struck a tree on the shoulder of the freeway. Meanwhile, a driver of a silver semi-truck stopped and used his fire extinguisher to put out the fire.
Furthermore, a witness told authorities a driver in a white Toyota Tundra pickup truck was possibly the suspect who may have fled, but also stopped just west of the crash scene on the right shoulder. The caller also gave the suspect’s license plate number to authorities.
Paramedics responded and transported the injured rider to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the motorcycle accident on the 10 Freeway in Fontana.
