Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Fontana Crash on 10 Freeway Near Cherry Avenue
FONTANA, CA (September 15, 2021) – A motorcyclist was badly injured after a crash on the 10 Freeway near Cherry Avenue in Fontana.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:10 p.m.
CHP said a dark colored Nissan sedan and the rider of a 2009 black Yamaha motorcycle collided for an unknown reason in Fontana.
The two crashed on the eastbound side of the 10 Freeway, just west of Cherry Avenue.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist down in the No. 1 lane. The patient sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the victim to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP located the sedan in the center divider following the wreck. Officers soon forced the eastbound lanes of the 10 Freeway near Cherry Avenue to shut down after the collision.
The cause of the Fontana crash is still under investigation.
