FORT TEJON, California (September 10, 2014) – A truck driver suffered major injuries and was hospitalized following a collision Wednesday afternoon with another truck on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of Grapevine Road, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 12:10 p.m., CHP officers responded to the crash involving a semi-tractor trailer truck that slammed into the back of a box truck in the No. 4 lane. The driver was trapped in his cab and suffered critical injuries. Paramedics were called to airlift the injured man to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Jim’s towing sent a heavy-duty tow truck to remove the disabled box truck that was hauling a load of garage doors.
Police are heading up an investigation into the accident at determine liability.
