
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2023) — A fatal Fountain Valley crash involving two vehicles happened Sunday at Euclid Street and Slater Avenue.
One driver died at the scene and a second driver survived with major injuries after he was pulled from his burning car, according to the Orange County Register.
The collision occurred about 4:52 p.m. on Feb. 26th, according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.
A Fountain Valley police officer reportedly witnessed the collision. A driver in a 2022 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Euclid Street and a southbound 2008 Dodge Caravan was turning left onto eastbound Slater Avenue.
The two vehicles collided and the 55-year-old man driving the Caravan suffered fatal injuries.
Police officers were able to pull the 51-year-old Costa Mesa man driving the Camry from his vehicle.
Paramedics rushed him by ambulance to a hospital where he is being treated for a significant head injuries, police said.
It’s unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol are a factor in the crash.
