Man in Wheelchair Killed in Fountain Valley Crash at Euclid and Warner
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (July 10, 2021) – A crash killed a man in a wheelchair near Euclid Street and Warner Avenue in Fountain Valley.
The Orange County Register wrote that the tragic accident took place on Saturday. Officers reported the collision shortly after 2:30 a.m.
The incident happened when a man in a wheelchair was trying to cross Euclid Street westbound on Warner Avenue. Fountain Valley police said a minivan going north on Euclid struck him for an unknown reason.
Victim Hit by 2 Vehicles
After some time, an SUV also traveling northbound then ran over the victim. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found him lying on the ground as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the pedestrian in his 50s dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, Fountain Valley police said the drivers of the minivan and the SUV stopped after hitting the man in the wheelchair. They stayed at the site and cooperated with the authorities.
Officials forced the area of Euclid and Warner to shut down for hours following the collision. The fatal accident is still under investigation.
