Teacher, Her Family Members Among Four Killed in Collision
TURLOCK, Calif. (Dec. 18, 2024) — Three adults and a teenager died, two teens were injured in a Turlock crash Sunday on state Route 165 near Greenway Avenue.
One of the victims was a teacher at Sinclear Elementary School identified as Jennifer Lourenco, KCRA reports. Her 44-year-old husband, Daniel Lourenco, and their 16-year-old daughter, Madelynn Lourenco, also died following the collision.
Meanwhile, their 14-year-old son, and their 19-year-old daughter, were hospitalized in critical condition.
The deadly crash occurred around 9:25 a.m. on Dec. 15th, in Stanislaus County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 22-year-old Modesto man, Uriel Guizar Negrete, was allegedly speeding in an Infiniti and traveling northbound Highway 165 when he broadsided a westbound Jeep SUV at Greenway Avenue as it entered the intersection.
Daniel Lourenco and his wife, Jennifer, both died at the scene along with the 22-year-old driver of the Infiniti.
Paramedics transported three passengers from the Jeep to the hospital in critical condition including the 16-year-old girl who later died at the hospital. The teenage boy and a 19-year-old woman remain in critical condition at the hospital.
Tow trucks removed the silver Infiniti with major front-end damage and the white Jeep with major driver’s side damage from the scene.
Investigators are working on the case and believe that high-speed was a factor in the crash.
