Fatal Crash on I-10 Freeway
CALIMESA, Calif. (July 2, 2024) — A fatal four-vehicle car collision happened Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 10 near Calimesa Boulevard in Riverside County.
The traffic accident occurred at around 12:30 PM on Tuesday July 2nd 2024, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Four vehicles were all involved in a major car accident. CHP reported that a red pickup truck hit multiple vehicles. Also, a driver in a Jeep collided with a compact vehicle, resulting in the whole front end coming off the smaller vehicle. The whole collision in itself was a traffic hazard on the highway. The witness of the trash was traveling towards Palm Springs, and reported the traffic accident on the opposite side of the highway.
Paramedics responded and located those who had been hurt in the crash and transported at least one person with injuries to Loma Linda Hospital for treatment. The crash was later updated to a fatality, but there are no further details.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the collision on Interstate 10 near Calimesa Boulevard.
