Four Vehicle Crash I-80 Freeway, Near Causeway in West Sacramento
June 25, 2025 | Yolo County, CA — A major injury crash involving at least four vehicles brought eastbound traffic to a crawl Wednesday morning on Interstate 80 near the Yolo Causeway in West Sacramento.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) the multi-vehicle collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. on June 25th in the eastbound lanes of I-80, just before the Causeway. Initial reports described a chaotic scene with a red Ram 1500 pickup truck, a gray Honda CR-V, a white Isuzu, a white Honda Civic, and a silver Toyota RAV4 among the vehicles involved. CHP dispatch confirmed that four or five vehicles were impacted in the crash, which blocked at least one lane and caused a significant backup during the morning commute.
First responders, including Davis Fire Department and multiple tow services, were dispatched to the scene. At 9:47 a.m., CHP officially classified the crash as a major injury traffic collision. One or more individuals were injured, though specific details regarding the extent of injuries have not yet been released.
Tow trucks from Dollar Tow and North Valley Fleet Services were called in to remove the damaged vehicles. Some involved vehicles were directed to the nearby Yolo Fruit Stand for staging while lanes were cleared. The crash led to temporary closures of at least one or two lanes as cleanup and investigation efforts got underway.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Motorists were advised to expect delays in the area for several hours following the incident.
CHP has not released the identities of those injured or involved in the crash. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
