Passenger Killed in Solo-Vehicle Collision on Highway 99 Sunday
Fowler, CA (April 25, 2021) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a fiery truck crash on Highway 99 Sunday morning.
According to ABC30, a U-Haul truck with two occupants was traveling north on SR-99 around 8 a.m. In the area near Manning Avenue, the driver allowed the truck to veer onto the right shoulder of the highway.
The truck reportedly swerved into the gore point and slammed into a tree. Per article published online, the force from the impact caused major damage to the truck.

When rescue teams arrived at the site, they found both the truck operator and passenger trapped in the wreckage. Shortly after the crash, the truck became fully engulfed in flames.
Our sources indicated the driver successfully got out. However, the passenger was left pinned. Paramedics at the scene later confirmed the passenger sadly died as a result of the incident.
Police continue to withhold the name of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
At this time, investigators handling the case continue to work to determine the precise circumstances that led to the fatal truck accident in Fowler.
