Victim of Crash on 215 Freeway is Identified

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (May 10, 2024) — Frances Bustillos, 39, of San Bernardino, died Wednesday afternoon in a crash on the Interstate 215 Freeway, near the 210 Freeway interchange in San Bernardino.

The traffic accident occurred at around 1:23 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol and CBS News.

The victim was identified today by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner.

A Nissan Versa for reasons unknown, unexpectedly stopped in the middle of the highway and as a result was hit from behind by a Freightliner Box Truck. Due to the impact, the Nissan ran straight into the guardrail and the Freightliner Box Truck overturned. This accident resulted in the blockage of the two right lanes along with the slow lane on the highway as well.

Paramedics arrived on scene of the crash and pronounced the driver of the Nissan Versa deceased. It was also reported that a female was involved in the collision and had major injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal crash on Interstate 215 in San Bernardino.
