Mishap Involves 1 Rig, 5 Other Vehicles
PLEASANTON, California (May 4, 2016) – 43-year-old Francisco Gomez was killed following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 580, April 27, according to Patch.
The accident happened at around 5:55 a.m.
Preliminary report stated that authorities responded to an emergency calling for aid on the highway.
Upon arrival at the scene, they have located 6 vehicles involved in a mishap.
The Patch published that the wreck came into action when a big rig rear-ended a 1999 BMW. The BMW then hit a 2001 Acura, which hit a 2005 Ford, which further hit a 2016 Nissan.
The chain reaction came to and end after the Nissan struck a 2008 Mazda, as mentioned in the article.
The force from the impact concluded with the BMW, Acura, and Nissan all on fire.
Gomez was trapped inside the blazing BMW, leading to his death.
No immediate information was provided on the driver of the rig.
Investigators assigned to handle the case continue to gather more evidences before pronouncing closure and citations.
