Needles, Calif. (February 24, 2023) – Francisco Javier Acosta, 68, of Lake Havasu, died Sunday night following a pedestrian accident on the Interstate 40, also known as Needles Freeway.
The deadly collision occurred about 7:42 p.m. on Sunday, February 19th, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP officials reported a driver in a white Toyota Camry struck the Lake Havasu man in the eastbound I-40 traffic lanes near near mile marker 145.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Needles
Paramedics responded to the crash scene and located Francisco Acosta suffering from life-threatening injuries due to the collision. Despite efforts by medical crews, the Lake Havasu man died shortly afterwards at the scene.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Needles pedestrian accident.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department identified the pedestrian who died on its website.
