3 Killed, 2 Injured in Crash on Mariposa Road
HESPERIA, Calif. (Feb. 27, 2024) – Francisco Valencia-Saucedo, 21, survived a fatal crash last Tuesday, Feb. 20th on Mariposa Road that left his brother and parents dead.
Meanwhile, the driver of an SUV who allegedly caused the crash is under arrest on DUI charges.
The young man’s parents, Pedro Valencia-Perez, 58, and Rosa Saucedo-Negrete, 59, along with his brother, Jose Valencia-Saucedo, 22, died in the crash.

The family was traveling together in a blue 2005 Toyota Corolla sedan on Mariposa Road when they were hit head-on by a suspected DUI driver in a black 2016 Chevrolet Suburban SUV.
Francisco Valencia-Saucedo was the only one from his family to survive the crash, but he was critically and hospitalized with a ruptured spleen and multiple fractures.
The other motorist in the Suburban, Pavlo Padilla, 45, of Victorville, also survived the crash with serious injuries.
He has been arrested on felony DUI causing injury/death charges and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated charges, police said.
The Hesperia Sheriff’s Station is heading up the investigation.
