INDIO, California (December 30, 2016) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision Thursday on Calhoun Street, according to The Desert Sun. (map)
The accident was reported at about 5:30 p.m., south of Taurus Avenue.
As per the article, a statement released online by Riverside County Fire Department and Indio police said a man was struck by a vehicle while crossing the roadway.
The victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was identified as 42-year-old Francisco Zendejas, of Indio.
Meanwhile, the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area. The suspect car was described as full-size light-colored pickup truck which sustained front-end damage following the crash.
