Frank Eldridge Owens Killed, Woman Injured After Plane Crash Near Brackett Field Airport

September 30, 2018 – A plane crash resulted in one person killed, and another injured Sunday afternoon near Brackett Field Airport.
According to KTLA, a single-engine Cessna 177RG crashed, for reasons still under investigation, along the 1600 block of Puddingstone Drive.
Deadly Plane Accident Sunday in La Verne
Shortly after 5:45 p.m., emergency teams rushed to the scene and rendered aid to two parties found in the wreckage. The victims were only described as a man, and a woman. As per the article, the male party was sadly pronounced deceased at the location. Officials later identified the man was 69-year-old Frank Eldridge Owens.
Authorities added the unidentified woman suffered what appeared to be serious injuries, and was transported to a hospital for possible surgery and treatment.
The Federal Aviation Administration records name Owens as the owner of the single engine plane involved in the incident. But it is unclear if Owens was piloting the aircraft during the crash.
No other details were immediately released.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are the agencies handling the investigation. The precise cause of the plane crash is still being determined.
