The accident involving two vehicles took place around 10:15 p.m., north of Fowler Road.

Turlock Fatal Car Accident

The driver allegedly over corrected. The Corolla spun into the southbound lanes and struck an oncoming 1988 Chevrolet Silverado.

CHP affirmed that the driver of the Chevrolet, 68-year-old Hilmar resident Franklin Horton, attempted to slow down but crashed into the right front end of the Corolla. He complained of pain but refused to be treated.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old motorist died at the scene. He was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol when the collision occurred.

The incident remains under investigation.

Most deadly accidents are preventable for as long as motorists follow and practice road safety measures and traffic regulations. If the investigation proves that a negligent party has disregarded the safety of others and has led to the injury of another individual, Mr. Franklin Horton may pursue a personal injury lawsuit seeking compensation for all his medical needs, hospital expenses, lost wages and other damages.
