FRESNO, Calif. (August 28, 2023) — Fred Leon Black Jr., 59, died in a pedestrian accident in Fresno while crossing Blackstone Avenue in a wheelchair at Herndon Avenue.
The deadly crash occurred around 11 p.m. on August 27th in the Northeast Fresno area, according to ABC 30 News.
The man, who was living in the area, was identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
A driver struck the victim as he was attempting to cross through the middle of Blackstone Avenue.
Paramedics rushed the injured man to Community Regional Medical Center. He later died at the hospital due to major injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver is of the vehicle stopped and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
