23-Year-Old Pregnant Woman, Candice Ooley, Arrested
MADERA COUNTY, California (May 21, 2016) – A 47-year-old Lemoore man identified as Federico Nunez Silva was killed and three were hospitalized after a DUI crash on Highway 41 Friday night, according to Sierra News Online.
The collision occurred about 9:50 p.m. on northbound Highway 41, north of Road 200.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a 2006 Hummer H3 was rear-ended by a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 23-year-old pregnant Clovis woman, Candice Ooley.
The Hummer then rolled down an embankment, coming to a stop on a pile of large boulders about 100 feet off the roadway.
All four occupants were pinned in the Hummer. Silva sustained blunt force trauma and died at the scene.
A 40-year-old Lemoore man was flown while two women were transported by ground ambulance to Valley hospitals with injuries described as moderate to major.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed Ooley was booked into the Madera County jail on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving on a suspended license due to a previous DUI conviction.
