Freida Pineda, 14, Killed in Turlock Car Accident on Monte Vista Avenue
TURLOCK (December 17, 2018) – A teen girl killed after an alleged DUI crash along Monte Vista Avenue on Friday evening has been identified as Freida Pineda, according to The Modesto Bee and CBS Sacramento.
The 14-year-old Turlock resident was the victim of a tragic accident which was reported on December 14 at around 7 p.m. in the 100 block of East Monte Vista Avenue.
As per the reports, police said Pineda was a passenger in a white Toyota sedan which was hit by a black Toyota pickup truck on Monte Vista, just east of the Geer Road intersection.
Two occupants, another juvenile and an adult female, were found inside the sedan while Pineda was ejected from their car. She died at the scene.
Suspect Kevin Hernandez, 21, Arrested For DUI
The other teen was taken by ground ambulance to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries while the woman was airlifted with injuries considered as life-threatening. The two patients, whose names were not disclosed, were listed in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the pickup ended up slamming into a carport and a parked vehicle in the area. Its driver, 21-year-old Kevin Solis Hernandez, sustained minor wounds upon impact.
The Turlock man was believed to have been impaired at the time of the wreck. He was then arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter and DUI causing death or serious bodily injury.
