3-Vehicle Car Accident on I-880 Freeway

FREMONT, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2023) — A multi-vehicle crash in Fremont happened Friday morning on the southbound Interstate 880 Freeway, just south of Decoto Road.

The three-vehicle chain-reaction collision occurred at around 8:49 a.m. on Oct. 20th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the drivers of a white Tesla Model &, a white Honda Civic and a white Sprinter van were involved. The Honda sustained both front-end and rear-end damage in the crash. It happened in the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the I-880, the report said.

Paramedics responded to help at least one person with injuries, but there are no further details at this time.

Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the freeway.

Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Fremont crash on the 880 Freeway.
