Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Mission Boulevard Wednesday
Fremont, CA (November 17, 2021) – A deadly pedestrian accident occurred on the Interstate 680 Freeway Wednesday evening, the East Bay Times News reported.
At approximately 8:40 p.m., the California Highway Patrol officers received reports of a person seen walking on the freeway in Fremont. For an unknown reason, the individual crossed from the right-hand side of northbound I-680 to the center divide. At least one vehicle later struck the pedestrian.

Responding authorities immediately searched the area for the pedestrian. Sadly, they found the unidentified person lying unconscious on the freeway. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Emergency crews shut down the freeway near Mission Bouelvard to give way to the investigation process. Detectives continue to work at this time to determine several factors surrounding the fatal accident on Interstate 680 in Fremont.
