Bicycle Rider Injured in Car Accident
FRESNO, Calif. (July 12, 2023) — A Fresno bicycle accident happened Wednesday morning at the Shaw Avenue East on-ramp to the southbound Highway 41.
The collision occurred around 8:26 a.m. on July 12th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch report.
A driver in a white Jeep reportedly struck the pedestrian riding a bicycle due to unknown circumstances. The rider went down in the roadway and was found unresponsive, the report said.
Paramedics with the Fresno Fire Department responded and located the injured cyclist with minor to moderate injuries.
They transported the person to Community Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
The driver in the Jeep stopped and cooperated with authorities and the investigation into what happened.
The case remains under investigation by the CHP and Fresno Police Department.
