3 Injured in Fresno Crash at Shaw and Maroa Avenues
FRESNO, CA (January 24, 2023) – Several were injured after a car crash at Shaw and Maroa avenues in northwest Fresno.
According to an article published by The Fresno Bee, the accident took place last week on Friday morning. Officers reported the wreck on January 20 at around 10:35 a.m.
The incident began when a Toyota Camry was going west on Shaw Avenue, approaching Maroa Avenue, in Fresno. At the same time, a Subaru was traveling south on Maroa.
For an unknown reason, the driver of the Toyota ran a red light at the intersection. The California Highway said in the process, the Camry slammed into the Subaru.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Another Car
The impact knocked a traffic light pole nearby. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found a total of three people hurt.
An occupant of the Subaru and the two people riding the Toyota sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patients at the site.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Shaw and Maroa avenues to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Fresno crash is still under investigation.
