2 Adults, 3 Children Injured in Fresno Crash on Highway 99 Near Clinton
FRESNO, CA (April 1, 2022) – A car crash left several people injured on Highway 99 near Clinton Avenue in Fresno.
According to the FOX 26 News and Your Central Valley, the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:52 p.m.
The incident began when traffic was stopped on southbound Highway 99, just north of Clinton Avenue, in Fresno. For an unknown reason, a Dodge truck failed to notice the stopped traffic ahead.
The California Highway Patrol said the Dodge then slammed into three other vehicles on the highway. One of the cars involved, a Toyota Corolla, ended up rear-ended in the process.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found two adults and three children riding one car hurt as a result of the wreck.
Medical personnel rushed them to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. They listed two of the juveniles, ages 7 and 9, in critical condition.
The parents of the children sustained moderate to major injuries due to the impact of the collision. The driver of the Dodge survived with minor injuries.
The reports did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the cause of the Fresno crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 99 to shut down near Clinton following the wreck.
