2 Injured in Fresno Crash at Sample Avenue and Maroa Avenue
FRESNO, CA (April 26, 2021) – Two were hospitalized after a car crash at Sample Avenue and Maroa Avenue in Fresno.
According to an article published by the FOX 26 News, the accident occurred on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 2 p.m.
The incident happened when a gray Hyundai was going east on Sample Avenue, approaching the Maroa Avenue intersection in Fresno. At the same time, a black Nissan was traveling north on Maroa.
The California Highway Patrol said for an unknown reason, the driver of the Hyundai then entered the intersection into the path of the Nissan.
Driver T-Bones Another Car in Fresno Intersection
The Hyundai failed to yield the right of way at a 2-way stop. In the process, the motorist in the Nissan did not have enough time to avoid collision and t-boned the Hyundai.
Both cars came to a stop in the front yard of a house on the northeast corner of the intersection. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.
They found the drivers of the two cars who ended up injured as a result of the collision. A CHP dispatch indicated that one of them sustained major injuries upon impact.
Medical personnel took the motorists to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. The other patient apparently suffered minor wounds.
Officials did not disclose their names and condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the roadway to shut down following the wreck. Authorities are still investigating the Fresno crash.
