Two Killed After Vehicles Crash Off Roadway; One Split in Half

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 28, 2026) — Two people are dead after a violent two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Fresno County at West Lincoln Avenue and South Cornelia Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported on Sept. 28th at approximately 7:52 a.m. near Lincoln Avenue and Cornelia Avenue. CHP dispatchers initially reported two vehicles involved, including a gray Honda Civic and an unidentified second vehicle.

Fatal Crash on West Lincoln Avenue in Fresno County

The collision appeared to involve significant vehicle damage. By approximately 8:01 a.m., a caller to 911 stated that one vehicle had entered an orchard and that another vehicle, described as a black sedan, had been split in half. Two people were confirmed dead at the scene, but it’s unknown if there are others who were injured.

A tow response was requested, and Caruthers Tow was dispatched to the scene. Authorities later indicated that a long-term road closure was not expected and that a county road services response was not required.

The circumstances leading up to the collision remained under investigation.
