Bicycle Rider Severely Injured in Fresno County Crash Near Central and Fig Avenues
COUNTY, CA (October 23, 2022) – A crash severely injured a bicycle rider near Central and Fig avenues in Fresno County.
According to The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News, the accident took place on Saturday evening. Officers reported the collision on October 22 at about 6:50 p.m.
The incident happened when a man was riding a BMX bicycle on West Central Avenue, east of South Fig Avenue, in Fresno County.
The California Highway Patrol said for an unknown reason, a vehicle hit him near the intersection. The front tire of the bike ended up missing and its rims badly damaged.
Driver Hits Bicyclist, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and soon found the bicyclist down on the ground. He sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel the rushed the victim to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP added that the driver did not stop to render aid to the cyclist and fled the area. Officers forced the corner Central and Fig avenues of to shut down for a time following the incident.
