3 Injured in Fresno County Crash at Highway 180 and Newmark Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (April 13, 2022) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash at Highway 180 and Newmark Avenue in Fresno County.
According to the ABC 30 News and Your Central Valley, the accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 3:45 pm.
The incident began when an SUV was trying to make a turn onto Newmark Avenue from westbound Highway 180 in Fresno County. At the same time, a grey sedan was going east on the highway.
For an unknown reason, the driver of the SUV failed to notice the other car. In the process, the SUV drove right in front of the sedan and the two collided in the intersection.
2 Cars Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the SUV rolled over upon impact. Its three occupants ended up ejected from the overturned vehicle as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance took one patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. A ground ambulance rushed the other two who sustained moderate injuries in the incident.
The report did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Highway 180 and Newmark Avenue to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
