3 Injured in Fresno County Crash at Highway 180 and Sonoma Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (March 26, 2023) – Several were injured after a crash at Highway 180 and Sonoma Avenue in Fresno County.
According to The Fresno Bee and FOX 26 News, the accident took place on Sunday night. Officers reported the wreck on March 26 at around 8:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a Chevrolet sedan was going west on Highway 180 near Sonoma Avenue in Fresno County. For an unknown reason, the car swerved to the left.
The California Highway Patrol said the Chevrolet then sideswiped a Ford Mustang. The impact pushed the Chevy to slam head-on into a Toyota Camry, west of Kerman.
Multiple Cars Collide
The Chevy caught fire and, in the process, ejected its male driver onto the roadway. Firefighters soon arrived at the scene and found him suffering from severe injuries.
Paramedics rushed the man to a hospital and listed him in critical condition. The motorists in the Mustang and the Camry sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon transported both patients for treatment. The report did not disclose the names of all the wounded parties.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Highway 180 and Sonoma Avenue to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
